What can I do for 10 minutes every day that will change my life?
Self-awareness transforms what is possible for human beings. Dogs don’t have access to self-awareness; For instance, a dog usually cannot stop itself from running over and chasing balls. Regardless of the place and situation, they just think about chasing balls because they don’t have access to self-awareness. You, however, have access to creating self-awareness and therefore you can transform your life. You got the answer to your question; you can develop self-awareness to change (read transform) your life. Let’s begin with explaining it further. This article will support you in developing self-awareness, so that you can transform what is possible for you now and for the future.
First, you must get the power of self-awareness and why it’s transformational. The Light of awareness shines and creates possibilities. Imagine that you are walking down a street in the dark, and you looked down the street to see a snake on the sidewalk. Your heart races, your adrenaline shoots through your body and you want to turn around. Because you saw a snake you want to run away, but in that moment you have a choice. You can turn and run or you can take out your flashlight (self awareness) and shine it on the snake. When the light shined on the snake you realized that the snake is not real; it is just a hose on the sidewalk. Your fears vanished and your body returns back to normal.
Once you realized the “snake” is really a hose, you will never have that same reaction to the “snake” again. Every time you pass by the hose you know it as a hose. You transformed your fear now and for the future by adding some light. The flashlight represents the light of awareness. Once the light of awareness was shone on the hose it can never go back to being a snake. The power of self-awareness is that powerful, it transforms what is possible for human beings.
This is what you can do for 10 minutes every day to change your life
Take 10-mins every day to place your awareness on your biggest fears, greatest upsets or what is limiting your performance. Place your awareness on something that you are looking to change and look for how you created it this way.
- Identify the Problem
- Ask yourself this question, how am I responsible for this upset?
- Create an “accountable statement” and share it with the world or people who are involved with your issue. E.g. I see that I am accountable for…
I’m going to try your tips. I need some life changing especially when fears are in my way. I’ve got to figure out why things upset me.
10 minutes is not too much time for anyone. I think this is a valid way for people to find their inner courage and motivatiom for change.
This makes a lot of sense. We don’t really think that we can do a lot in 10 minutes. We can set aside that time to reflect and to assess.
This is very helpful, especially since I spend too much time in fear of things that I have no control over. Taking this ten minutes to reflect on what I can do or if I am even accountable for it in the first place will hopefully move my focus away from this and towards what I can do to change.
I think the biggest thing that holds people back or down is that they are totally unaware of their own problems and how they can fix them. Whether it is alcoholism or simple fears, realizing that you have a problem is the first step. Realizing that you can do something about them is the second.
So very insightful. I have a lot of anxiety about things in life that I know I shouldn’t, and I need to get a hold on these in order to really go for what I want in life. Thank you for sharing this.
This is nice! ervy minute is important and a 10 minute life changing moment is worth to spent within a day. It is for self benefits anyway. This is very helpful !
Your tips are simple, to the point, and very helpful! Thank you! I haven’t thought about asking myself what I am I accountable for but it really makes me see things introspectively.
So interesting. It’s true you can do anything for 10 minutes and I think working on your fears is a great way to move forward and be more self aware.
I like the idea of taking 10 mins everyday to reflect and act. Sometimes I get upset for the silliest thing. Thanks for sharing!
This is helpful. We often do whatever things when we face a problem. But it is really important to identify the problem it first and be accountable.
WOW. It is indeed a lifechanging moment. Thanks for the tips and I’ll do it the next time I’m facing something I am afraid of.
